Immersed in an ocean
that stretches onwatd
as far as any eye can see
beyond the bounds of imagination
an ocean full
of warmth
and life
and yet, with dangers too
for if you dive too deep
dive to the bottom of this ocean
you may never surface
although this ocean is calm
danger still abides
hidden beneath waves of blue
in these darkest depths
there is no life to speak of
no predators to harm you
the greatest harm
lies in the ocean itself
the crushing weight
that may destroy
even the strongest.
and yet, we cannot live without
this ocean
with the water that it gives us
with all the life that it bears
all wrapped up inside
something so beautiful and deadly
so too with love
that stretches onwatd
as far as any eye can see
beyond the bounds of imagination

of warmth

for if you dive too deep
dive to the bottom of this ocean

Alone
In her room, there is
No such thing as popularity
As homework or grades
Or Ivy League schools.
Boys are just boys
And beauty means nothing.

And she feels like she
Belongs.

Home broken
Dear father,
I swear I can't inhale the pain today.
You can just leave your lies at home,
because after all doesn't charity start
at home.
You know father, the rum on your tongue won't make us
go away, so why do it anyway?
I can see the struggle you put on mother's
shoulders.
I've seen the bruises and the scars.
I've seen the spilled blood and the feeble being on the hospital's bed.
I've heard the cursing screams and the pleading cries.
All at a young age.
But I've grown and you've grown.
To the point where we are not the same, not even
same DNA.
So you can i

Beyond Your Scars
You see the scars upon your wrist
Another flaw added to your list,
And you're too scared to leave behind
The secrets and pain you hold inside.
You hate the path you chose to follow
It leaves you feeling cold and hollow.
You feel too trapped to turn around
To your grief you fear you're bound.
You hide your sadness by your smile
And it protects you for a while,
Until it's time to face the fact
That no one no longer believes your act.
You self destruct, but you're aware
That it won't free you from despair,
You feel it helps you find some peace
For only a moment, you're at ease.
Beyond the flaws that you perceive
You hold courage
